Since usually by the time the girls have finished getting ready the guys have been fully dressed for quite some time. Here is a photo of the gents. Oddly enough I didn't pose this at all. I turned around and this is exactly how they were standing!

Ok. Quick interjection. Vince and Amanda get my vote for the couple with the most amazing eyes! Lookin good you two!

To be honest with you, I can't remember who this was that said the blessing. I thought he was awesome enough to get a spot in the post though. Can I be as cool as him someday?

"Pretty" please!

So I am having some trouble sleeping tonight. This is not the most convenient thing considering I have to be up in about 5 hours. It could have something to do with the fact that I slept about 11 hours last night and am not all that sleepy. It could also have something to do with a thought that has been weighing heavy on me lately.

The statement comes in several different forms, but it usually goes something like this. "I don't look good in pictures.", "I'm not photogenic.", or "I'm not pretty."

I hear it all the time. It makes me so sad! Somewhere along the line we have painted this picture to ourselves of what "pretty" or photogenic is and we tell ourselves that we don't fit that profile. Either someone has said something to us that has damaged us or at some point we deemed ourselves unworthy to be photographed. Now, while this disturbs me as a photographer, it disturbs me even more as a human. The fact is that we are not here by happenstance. We are not here by mistake.

"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." Psalm 139:13-14

What an amazing acknowledgement that we see here in the psalms! This story that we call life is an intricate one that has so many dimensions and we have been woven into it's very being.

I remember in my youth I hated having my picture taken. Honestly I can't really remember why now. There are many photos I look back on though and there is no evidence of me being a part of those memories. I SO wish that wasn't the case. I won't ever be able to go back and recreate them though. I also have photos that I do have of myself with people that are no longer with us and while I may not have been thrilled with the way I looked, I know that there will never be another opportunity to be photographed with these people again. I am SO thankful that I have those!

I understand the reality that some people will never let this concept sink into their hearts. Honestly it sucks, cause it means that there has been so much damage to their spirit that they will probably live the rest of their lives thinking that they are unworthy. There comes a point when you can't plead with people anymore because the more you do the more they will figuratively plug their ears as they drill into their minds that they are unacceptable to be seen. I have seen it enough that I suppose this is just one last plea for people to see my heart on this and for them to hopefully be honest with themselves.

Take away every concept of what attractive is for a moment. A photograph isn't meant to capture what people have etched in their minds to be beautiful. A photograph is simply meant to capture life.....and life without any expectation in and of itself is beautiful.

Please, allow yourself to be a part of it!

Evan & Erica

So I'm a little behind on the blog front. I know I know! Lay off me, I'm busy! Just kidding. I'm excited to finally get some of these on the blog. Evan and Erica were referred to me by some mutual friends and, I must say, I could not be more thrilled. These two are some of the kindest and laid back people I've met.

If you're not familiar, The Lesters is a music group that is made up of members of Evan's family. In fact, Evan still plays drums for them. This sign that used to reside in front of their old music store has been there so long that it has become a permanant fixation on this wall. So naturally we needed to capture a few shots underneath the sign.

Just down the street was this amazing church. As some of you may know, I'm kind of a fan of big cool doors such as this one. I couldn't resist!

Erica kept asking me when they would get to kiss! True sign of a love bird. ;)

So I can't remember the whole story, but if I remember correctly, Evan always comes equipt with a toothpick. I love people who want their photos to be personal to their unique quirks.

On the way there we saw these awesome little carts lined up on the side of the rode. I love them! Not gonna lie.....I kind of want one.

This just makes me smile every time I see it. :)

So I asked the two of them if they would be willing to climb to the top of these stairs and they were more than willing. They were so excited when they got to the top. This makes me laugh.

The crazy artist coming out in me. Wasn't sure what I was going to end up with, but I kind of love it. It makes me feel like I stole a shared moment of a couple passing by me.

Congratulations to the two of you! Can't wait for the big day!!!

So on one of the most hot and humid days I ventured downtown. After chatting with Angie for a few minutes I came to find out that their engagement session shared the night of three other events that night. A concert, a football game, and a baseball game. Needless to say we had a few challenges, but we worked it out. Between the blue skies and the sunset we had some pretty great photo opportunities ahead of us.

Since Angie and Chris are originally from out of town, but have spent several years of their life, while in school, living in St. Louis they wanted to make sure they got a good local landmark as a backdrop. I think we succeeded! ;)

Angie has been studying law while attending school at SLU so she brought a little something that represents her view over the past couple years.

A girl has to have a little break from her studies, right?

I seriously may get used to shooting downtown more. I kind of fell in love with shooting down there this time. This was the first session I have shot in that area. Not really sure why?

I will leave you with one of my favorite portrait session photos yet. I. LOVE. THIS. PERIOD. The daunting heat and humidity was completely worth capturing this moment!

The Trotter Family

So about 5 months ago I started to get to know my now good friends Adam and Jessica. Unlike most of my friendships we became close...fast. When I met these two they were expecting their first child. A HUGE adjustment in life after being married for such a short time. They were excited, obviously, just like every new parent. Jess had pictures of the baby bump and Adam would boast about the fact that he would soon be a dad.

It wasn't long after knowing these two that I got a message from Adam saying : "Found out today that we lost Baby Trotter, appreciate the prayers." What a blow, like sucker punch to the stomach. Obviously myself as well as an abundance of other friends and family began to pray for these two....and pray hard. Jessica had a LONG road ahead of her physically as they both did emotionally. After the loss of baby Trotter, Adam bought a necklace for Jessica that they designed. On one side is engraved the date they found out they were pregnant as well as the date of the surgery. On the other side it says "baby Trotter, we love and miss you, love mommy and daddy". Attatched to the necklace is an angel and the march birth stone.

I know that there are so many people out there in the world that know what these two have had to go through, but I can't even imagine. It's heartbreaking to know that your close friends, who you love, have to go through something so devistating. There comes a point when your words aren't going to do anything. All you can do is pray and let them know that you will be there. It's such a helpless feeling, but I know that these two feel the love of the people around them knowing they have people they can lean on in this hard time.

As I've grown to know these two better something I can tell without question is how much Adam is in love with his wife. I asked the two of them some questions about their relationship and this is what Jessica had to say about Adam:

"I have never had anyone (a man) be by my side (besides God) as much as Adam. During this time he truly showed me unconditional love, "in sickness and in health". He went to all the doctors appointments with me and never once made me feel like he would rather be doing anything else besides being right by my side.....In the past 6 months Adam has truly learned how to put me before himself. Unfortunately, on March 1st, 2010 I have never seen so much pain in anybodies eyes as I did my husbands when the doctor said " I am sorry to say there is no heartbeat coming from your baby". With this pain I have seen Adam grow into the man/husband I know God set out for Adam to be and I have seen Adam and I's love not only grow much more for each other but also for our Creator!"

Every week Jessica has had to go get her blood work done. She has had to receive a form of chemo treatment. There was even a night when I went over to their house to spend time with friends and it ended up in a trip to the Emergency Room. Yes this woman is strong. She is one of the tiniest people I know, but have no doubts, this woman is STRONG.

When I asked Adam what he admired most about Jessica as she went through all of this he answered:

I admire her strength both physically, and spiritually! She's a trooper and can handle a lot more than I can!.....it would be easy to turn to other "things" to help her through these times, but she turns to God as her source of strength and encouragement!

I love how much he loves her.

As their friend, the amazing thing I find about these two is that they haven't lost their sense of humor. While at times they are down, as ANYONE would be, their spirit has shown through incredibly. The times I have laughed the hardest in the last 6 months have been with these two. Even in their trials they know how to bring a smile to the faces of the people around them.

Some time back Adam wrote a song called Trials before all of this had happend. Part of the song reads:

"Send me through the fire. Send me through the pain. I would go through suffering, all for your name."

I'm sure he had no idea what path their lives would take when he wrote that, but these two have definitely been through the fire and pain and have had their share of suffering. Another line in that song reads:

"I'm praying for your presence now."

I'm pretty sure whether they have said those words or not that that has been the prayer of their heart more than a few times through all of this.

Adam and Jessica,

This is not a tragedy that has just happened to you. This is a story that is bigger than anyone can understand that you have a part in. I would never wish what has happened to you upon anyone, but the fact is that you are going to play a HUGE role in some people's lives. I can't even imagine what God's plan is for you. Whatever it is, I know it is big. The time that I have known you two has been short, but I do love you guys and am so very grateful for your friendship.

Baby Lily

Everyone meet baby Lily! This baby has actually graced this blog before, however you may not recognize her. ;)

I mean how precious is this girl? She is seriously one of the sweetest and happiest babies I've ever photo'd!

This little one is quite loved.

I so loved the details I kept finding as I walked around their house.

I mean really? Can't get over that face ;)

Of course we had to get one with the whole family. We put baby Lily down for a little bit in hopes to get some sleeping shots. As we waited I started to hang out with Lily's mom and dad for a while. Such fun parents. So easy to talk to.

After we talked for a while I realized that Lily had been down for a while and when I went up to her room look who decided to immediately wake up. :)

We all tried to get a little Ann Geddes today. We started putting little Lily in different things. I think she was a little confused. Haha!

In my mind I wasn't so sure how that would work out for his photos. Not gonna lie, I'm pretty glad he didn't cut it. I think it made for some fun photos!

Meet my friends Nathan and Katie. I've known these two since my freshman year of college. So almost 9 years now. Man how time flies by quickly.

Lately I've been thinking about a new idea. I thought it would be a great idea to offer a photoshoot for couples who have been married a few years and maybe have gotten overwealmed by life and don't get a chance to get alone. I think that every couple should be able to have a couple hours to set aside work, chores, taking care of family and just be alone. And why not look great while doing that! So when I mentioned the idea to Katie she was ALL for it. Here are some of my faves from the shoot.

By the way, this week is their 8th anniversary!!!!

So the other day I went out with a few guys that are in a band together. It was the first time that I've ever worked with a band so it was a bit of a challenge for me in the sense that I had to think differently about the way I worked with them. I'm totally excited about where these guys are going. As I walked around with them I overheard their conversations about other bands, possible venues they had booked, and ideas they had for the future. I love when people are in their element and get excited about it. Here is one shot from the shoot that I'm pretty excited about actually. I'll have more to come later.

25th Anniversary Vow Renewal

So I have now taken photos for this family on several occasions and I must say that it is never a dull moment. I always have a blast. Sometimes I feel like I'm just part of the party instead of actually working. It makes my job SO much more fun! This day was no exception. A few weeks ago on one of our rare beautiful Sunday afternoons Dave and Brenda renewed their vows after, yes, 25 years! I love that. I have had so much fun going through these photos that I wanted to share a few with you.

Of course my favorite place to start.....CAKE!!! And aren't these the most fun cakes you've seen?!

A life of focus...

Today I decided that I couldn't do it anymore. I couldn't go any longer without picking up a camera. I didn't have a subject to shoot, but that didn't matter. I just had to push that shutter. Today I gave myself a bit of a challenge. No auto focus. For someone like me auto focus is a must. Today I left my house without my glasses which enhanced the challenge all the more. (No worries friends. I'm not completely blind) So here we go...

So after MANY grey, rainy and snowy days we have had we FINALLY got some SUUUUN!!! It truely was a beautiful day.

Someone needs to clean their fence. :-/ Yikes!

Jeremy Cowart Workshop Experience

Hello again, my friends! Well it is a start of a new year and there has been some exciting things going on. Most of you may not know that I recently went to a photography workshop. Now when I say that I feel as though I'm almost cheapening the experience I had this weekend. You see this was not just any workshop. This was a workshop with THE Jeremy Cowart. I know I know! I can not believe it either. Still pinching myself on this one.

Before God directed my path into the realm of photography I knew that my life was going to involve something creative. I didn't know what, how, or in what capacity. During my last year of college I fell in love.....with photography that is. For the first time I felt passionate about something. I actually wanted to learn. I was never too much of an eager student until this point.

During my class my teacher, and friend, the incredibally talented Lisa Hessel, showed us Jeremy's web site. I was floored. I was hooked. Imagine finding someone who was dying of thirst. They know that something can remedy this suffering, but do not know the solution. Then they are introduced to water for the first time. That's how I felt. I found something that satisfied the creative side of my brain and suddenly I couldn't get enough. I continued to search and search for photograph upon photograph. So when I discovered that Jeremy Cowart was doing a workshop I was elated! It was so much of split decision that I am still in shock that I made it and actually attended.

Why don't I give you a break and give you a bit of a visual of how the weekend looked.

Of course as soon as we got there the introductions got rolling. I think we were all just so giddy!

The first night we introduced ourselves, told a bit about our stories and what brought us there, and then Jeremy explained his journey. He then went on to show us some of his work and gave a little background to some of his photos.

The next day he showed us how he would work with models. We all intently watched and hung on his every word as he brought the insight.

He then had us to seperate into groups of five. We each had our own turns to shoot with a model. Here are a few of my shots.

After we had time with the models we each submitted three photos right then and he crituiqed the photos as we all got a chance to see each other's work. I can not explain how amazing that opportunity is to a young photographer. I mean seriously how many times have you thought, "I wonder what (fill in the blank) would think of my work?" I HAD THAT OPPORTUNITY!!! Incredible. period.

There was so much that I learned in just a short 36 hours that I would never know how to begin to share. It was truly a gift. In this case it was not a gift that I could unwrap and show you. That is what makes it so difficult to put into words. This gift comprised of not only learning technique, but also building relationships, learning about other people and personalities, hearing that people who are working toward some of the same things you are have also been struggling with some of the same issues. This gift also allowed me to take a look inside of myself, forcing me to ask questions on how I approach my business from here on out. From this very moment. No, that is not something I could show you. It is barely something I can even articulate.

One small thing I did realize is that I haven't been focusing on the area of photography that sparks my passion. I shaped my business around what the people around me were doing. I just thought that that was the path to take. While the way these incredible talents focus their business is great I have quickly realized that that path was not what excites me. I realized that the kind of photographs I love taking are more in the fashion realm or photographing bands/musicians. So that is where I am headed. That is where I am going to direct my focus. I mean it makes the most sense right? Well it does to me. My first step towards this was as soon as I got home (literally about an hour later). My aformentioned teacher and friend and I colaborated on a little creative venture. Here is one of the shots I captured. I'm not going to post any more quite yet because I want to make an entire post from that shoot.

If by the insane chance Jeremy Cowart actually reads this I just want to say thank you. Thank you for this opportunity. Thank you for this gift. This has been a definite benchmark in my life and I will forever remember this weekend. You are an incredible talent and an inspiration to SO many photographers. Please! Keep the inspiration coming

The Sadich Family

So as I looked at the date of my last post I noticed that, well, it was about a month and a half ago. Dang! I'm behind. Oh well. Today I had a moment to retreat from the blizzard we had today....ok compared to what we have been having it seems like one.

Moving right along. I had the privilege...sometime over a month and a half ago :-/ to photograph a family who are good friend's of mine. They had a new baby girl this year and of course their little boy is, well, not so little anymore. In fact let's start off with the big guy.

...and meet his little baby sister! Her name is Emery. Love it!

So for whatever reason I LOVE this photo. Completely natural. Can't explain it. Just love it!

Another love! It reminds me of all those kids shows growing up where you never see the adult's face. Just their feet. Complete perspective from the kids point of view.

Kaden wasn't too much in the mood for posing. More so for just playing games. I didn't mind. ;)

Alright, now if your memory escapes you Missouri had one of the yuckiest Octobers. By the grace of the good Lord above the Hastings picked probably the only day in October that was decent. Not only was it decent, it was beautiful. Look at that sun!

As I looked over from the porch that you see above I saw this incredible yellow tree. The sun was in the perfect spot and I just couldn't resist. LOVE this one!

Sadich Family Preview

So today was quite the busy day of family shoots. Of course these amazing families couldn't have picked a more perfect day to do them. 70 degrees, clear skies, perfect sun. Uh, are you sure its the middle of November?! Anyhow I am in the midst of editing one of the families (friend's of mine as a matter of fact). Usually when I photograph families I love to capture the playing and laughing. However every once in a while I come across one of those photos that are just "real life". No posing, just honest. This is one of those photos. I don't know what it is about it, but I love it. It makes me laugh.

I'm trying to decide though if I like it better in color or not. This kid has some incredible blue eyes. Leave me a comment and let me know what you like best.

Everyone meet the Zellmer family! Don't they look fun. Well I can tell you. They are.

And let me tell ya. This family has got some cute kids! All smiles. =D

Ah boys who like to explore. This one feels a little timeless to me. It definitely makes me smile.

We took a little break in the evening to play around a swingset we found somewhat off in the woods. Good time were had by all. Love this sequence.

She was holdin' that smile in for a while, but we finally got it outta her.

How could you not fall in love with a face like that. TOO CUTE!

So we decided to let mom and dad have their moment too. I mean they deserve it after all the hard work they do. Can we say we got a couple of models here?

And last, but not least a group shot in front of the sweet doors we found. I'm a big fan of doors if you didn't know. ;)

The Sarino Family

So I had the privilege yesterday to do some family photos for the Sarino family. I was super excited to see these guys again. The last time I saw them was probably about a year and a half ago. The boys had just been introduced to the world and were quite tiny. About all they did was sleep. I can't believe how long it had been for when the door was opened there stood two little men with sippie cups in hand. So big! And so cute! So without further ado....

Well we decided, on what turned out to be an amazing fall evening, to go chill out by a barn down the street. As you can tell there was much to look at. To my surprise it was actually a working barn stocked with sheep and goats!

Unfortunately we couldn't actually go into the barn so we decided to venture out once more. Jason was telling me about the story of the train cars that the town had stored down the street. As we pulled up I couldn't have been more excited. What a perfect photo spot! :D

Well it is official. I finally have internet at home. I've been in my current home for 4 1/2 years without internet. Its made the work flow a little tough. Fairly slow you could say. So for those of you who remember some time back I did a maternity/family session with some good friends of mine. There was one thing that stood out to me about that shoot. Mainly because it seemed to stand out to everyone else who saw it. Yes yes, it was the feet picture. You know the one with the whole fam piled up on the bed. :D Good times good times. Well generally I don't like starting off a post with my favorite photo, but I made an exception this time. I thought I would go along with the feet theme. Seriously love this one. Totally has daddy's boy all over it. Doesn't it just make you feel safe?

This family came out for their family photos on one of those ridiculous Missouri summer days when the humidity is so high you feel like you're swimming. They surely stuck it out though despite the heat and despite some lack of sleep the night before due to a power outage. Troopers I tell you. Look at these smiles :D

I had the extreme privelage of photographing Brian and Natasha's wedding a couple weeks ago. I honestly had such a blast at this wedding. I felt so much love. Both of them as well as people in the wedding party thanked me for photographing the wedding and were constantly looking out for me throughout the day. After having the opportunity to scout out locations with them a few weeks ago I knew the big day was going to be spectacular!!! And oh how I was ever right. These two are some of the kindest people and I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with them.

Basic rundown of the day:

Beautiful ceremony.

For those of you who saw my last post you will know that I have been out and about the country. I went and did an engagement shoot with my cousin and his fiance Donelle. It was a whirlwind of a trip. Fast and furious for sure, but fun nonetheless, so let the excitement begin.

First shot of the weekend and definitely one of my faves.

So I will have to admit. I stole the idea for this photo from one of my friends and photographic mentor Lisa. I just couldn't pass up the opportunity though. Love it!

Just a lovely stroll down the street. What you can't tell is that we are about to get hit by a car. Possibly the real reason why Donelle is looking over her shoulder. After we grabbed this, it was a dash to our safety seeing that traffic was not going to stop.

Uh oh Joel...it has already started. ;)

I love this shot taken in the church where Joel puts some hours in. Don't you just love the glow of that stained glass window. Beautimous!!!

So I had a first in my photographer career thus far. 10th anniversary photos. When my mom had told me that she had referred someone she knew for this session, I expected, in my naive preconceived notions, a nice looking middle aged couple.

To my delighted surprise who stepped out of the vehicle that pulled up to meet me that day???

We somehow managed to find this little gem of a spot out in the back of a parking lot. Who would've ever thought?

Every time I told them to just pretend like I wasn't there, Casey would pop her foot up in the air like that. Guess that's just their "we're alone now" pose.

I love the way he's looking at her. Can't you tell how much he loves her. Written all over that face.

After some time in the park we moved on to another location, where we ate lunch at. Amazing place by the way. I grabbed this shot of Mark as we waited for Casey to freshen up. Don't you feel like you're in a Patrick Dempsey movie???

...but they kept cracking each other up. I love the way they make each other laugh.

So for those of you who don't know, this weekend I'm doing a bit of jet setting. That's right, I said it. Jet setting.

On Thursday I set off on an adventure to the nation's capital to do an engagement shoot for my cousin and his fiance. The two of them are quite the young professionals working non stop. While the two of them worked today I walked the District, scouting out some cool locations for us to take advantage of.

Since these two are the young professionals that they are we decided to break this photo excursion into two shoots. Today we captured them in their element. So they came straight from work ready to sport those business duds.

So here's just a little teaser for ya.

We call this their Law and Order pose.

So Donelle and I thought that Joel could use this for some high profile photo in his future business ventures.

So Carter is getting ready to turn 1 and mom and dad wanted to get a few shots to capture this time of his life. I of course was most certainly excited once I met this fiery little red head. I was even more excited when I found out that this little guy's birthday is just one day before mine. We had such a blast. Of course there is never a dull moment at this age. ;)

I had the great privilege to take some engagement photos for Nolan and Amanda. What a great time! We met at this cool trail by an old school warehouse in the city. This place had so many things to look at and great spots to photograph. Of course with these interesting locations came a few treacherous spots. :D These two were quite the troopers and willing to climb and trek through wherever I asked them. I don't think that we could have picked a more beautiful day to take these. I think they came out pretty great. Of course it helps when you have two people that obviously love each other. Hope you enjoy!

What a great day it was today. Totally relaxed and nice to have nothing to do and just spend some time with the fam. We went to the park and chilled for a while waiting till it was time to be seated for lunch. Of course as the years pass the nostalgia grows and the photo opps increase. So we took turns taking photos of us in the park. Hope everyone had a great mother's day! Here's a look at ours. :D

Smith Family~ Maternity

So I had the extreme privilege to do a maternity shoot yesterday. The main reason that it was so much fun is because Nathan and Katie are some of my best friends. I've known them since I started college and have been so blessed to have shared life with them since then. I watched them get married and have been able to watch all three of their kids grow up. Its so crazy to think that I've known them coming up on eight years. It's truly been an honor to have their friendship.

They are now pregnant with number four. It's hard to believe that the baby will be here in a few short months. Since they have always known what they were having with their previous children, they decided to keep this one a surprise. Any guesses???

So I didn't realize before hand that they had this foot board and wasn't planning on that, but I must say that I think this is one of my favorites from the day.

Trevor and Rachel

I recently did a wedding in St. Charles. The area was so cool. In the middle of everything is this little chapel with a barn next to it. It is such a cool spot. We were a little apprehensive leading up to the weekend. The weathermen threatened us with rain, but God provided. It turned out to be an awesome day. A little windy, yes, but great nonetheless.

From the time that we met to talk about photos Trevor was a bit reluctant to having his picture taken. Look at him work it out though.

Trevor and Rachel decided that they wanted to see each other before the ceremony. This was great for me. We got to have fun and look around for a little photoshoot with just the two of them.

We then gathered the rest of the wedding party to join in on the fun.

Awakening the Book

I can not wait for a new book that is coming out. Jeremy Cowart was the photographer for a new book coming out this spring called Awakening. He was the photographer for the Passion World Tour and took thousands of some of the most incredible images. I have been anxiously awaiting this book for months and plan on buying it as soon as I hear it is out! Just thought I would share this lovely news. Keep an eye out for it.

In other news, I shot a wedding last weekend and had an absolute blast. I've been working on a few of my favorite shots to post up here. Hopefully I will have them up soon.

The chapel is in a really cool area with some surrounding buildings that I think that are going to make for some interesting shots. Seeking Inspiration

I have a wedding next week and look forward to coming up with new ideas. I'm trying to get inspired. Sometimes it seems difficult when it is cloudy and cold outside. It leaves you wanting to just sit inside and take a nap. So at an attempt to stay inspired I am looking at as many blogs, photos, and photographer sites to keep the wheels turnin. I am continually sifting through my own photos as well to find the ones that keep me motivated to stay creative. Here is a photo that I edited recently that I enjoy the feel of. Just feels intimate, personal, like the dress is preparing for its debut moments before in the calm of solitude.

So if you saw my most recent post, there is a bit of a connection to this one. Tracy is Whitney's mother. This wedding was so much fun for me. It was very small out in Hermann, MO. I didn't know much about Hermann before this week, but the drive out there was amazing and it had this cool little town. The place where Jim and Tracy got married was a place called Hermann Hill Chapel. Probably one of the coolest places I've shot. The chapel has a huge picture window behind the alter where the sun sets behind. Let me tell ya about a great backdrop. Hope you enjoy!

These two really enjoy each other. They for sure knew how to have a good time. I overheard some of the people there talking about how much they loved Tracy's laugh. I think you can tell here she's got a good one. :)

Jim and Tracy were so great. I felt so welcome as if I were almost a guest at the wedding. They even had a place setting with my name on it at the reception. How amazing are they!

So when I first heard about Doug and Whitney I was told that they were both 18 years old. I couldn't believe it. So young. Of course upon meeting them and watching them interact I could tell that these two love each other very much. So a couple of my friends had themselves a little addition to the family this past year. A beautiful little baby girl. This was her first Christmas so we got a few shots of the new fam together during the holiday season. This little one's momma comes from a big family with many uncles to watch after her so needless to say she is quite loved. I just feel sorry for the boys that will come along in her life and all the men they will have to answer to.

Well she was having a bit of a rough time when we started, but I think we got some really great shots. We were all about ready for a nap by the end of the morning, but it was all well worth it.

So my friend, Kate, does hair and make up and is trying to put a portfolio together of her work. I've been doing a little photo work for her and we continued to add to it on Friday. Since it was rainy out we started in the salon and decided to just stay there. It turned out way more amazing than I expected. Favorite salon shoot to date. It was the first time I had ever met Rae and to sum her up she is.....well just look at that hair. That pretty much describes her. Enjoy!

Senior Portraits: Katie

So it was a little rainy the first day we shot so Katie brought her fun poka dotted rain boots. I decided I'd get a shot of those first.

Price Changes

So I know that it is only October, but as we all know the end of the year comes very quickly. I won't make you all think about any more than you want. The reason for this post is update everyone on a few price changes that I will be making after the turn of the year.

Weddings:

$500

This will include the entire day of the wedding. I will be there from the time of getting ready (or whenever you would like me to show) till the time the bride and groom leave the reception. This will also include a disk with the images. If the customer would like me to print out any of the photos for them then I will charge the expense of the printing.

Portraits (engagement, family, kids, and seniors):

$50/ hour

I have not yet come to a place of having packages for weddings. I have done engagement photos and love doing portraits. I would be more than happy to do an engagement shoot for anyone about to tie the knot. For those whose wedding I am shooting this fee will be added to the $500 for the wedding. This also includes the other type of photos listed above.

So I haven't had much activity on here lately. Being that I just started I'm still trying to get things off the ground. I have booked several weddings lately so I'm hoping that things pick back up and as a result, more posts. For right now I've put up a few more from the last wedding that I shot that I really enjoyed.
